PLANT-POWERED BEAUTY
Use dead sea salt to exfoliate skin.
Exfoliating your skin is more important than you may think: As you age, cell regeneration slows down, and as old skin piles up, your skin starts to appear dry and dull. To avoid this and to help radiant skin emerge, it is essential to exfoliate.
We love using vegan ingredients with a base of Dead sea salt for making body scrubs to exfoliate the skin. Dead sea salt contains a plethora of minerals, including magnesium, potassium, and calcium, known to stimulate blood circulation and aid in the process of detoxification. Dead sea salt is perfect for a body scrub but may be too harsh for a facial scrub. For the face, it is better to use organic sugar or organic rice bran to support our skin’s cycle of regeneration.
Use fresh almond milk in your facial cleanser.
Facial cleansing is an important twice-a-day ritual to rid the skin’s surface of impurities and ensure its overall health and balance. After all, every day our skin is exposed to dirt, pollution, bacteria, and viruses, plus the build-up of dead skin cells. Cleansing provides a clean slate for applying nourishing moisturizers.
Our favorite vegan recipe is our Almond Milk Facial Cleanser. This recipe is made of fresh, home-made almond milk as its base. Almond milk is a superfood that is especially useful for aging, dry, and sensitive skin. It also contains antioxidants that work to keep skin protected against free radicals, and it boasts vitamin B2, which helps preserve healthy tissue, support circulation, and enhance hydration.
Try fresh fruit to heal & nourish skin
You have to try this brightening facial mask made with strawberries and essential oils. It is so easy to make, and it’s deeply nourishing for skin that is feeling dull and needs a bit of brightening. The strawberries work to brighten, and the chamomile offers anti-inflammatory benefits.
What’s great about this recipe is that you can customize it by swapping the essential oil for one that addresses your own unique beauty and wellness needs. Some other essential oils that could work wonders in this facial mask include lavender, frankincense, or ylang ylang.
